This is a journaling system, not a planning system, and it’s on the decorative side, but bullet journaler mochibujo shares her creative reading spreads that are basically two page collages with some written reactions to the books she reads.
I love the idea of just putting to paper what you feel after reading a book, whether that’s in words or through visual mediums. I think when a lot of people think of reading journals they think of writing reviews or summarizing what they read; but when reading fiction, particularly some of the more creative world building fiction I like, there are definitely things I imagine that I’d love to express visually without the burden of taking notes or recording what the text said.
In this video mochibujo also shares some bujo spreads for tracking reading, which may be of interest as well. She uses Notebook Therapy, an Archer & Olive competitor that makes 160 gsm bound notebooks with dot grid paper, linen covers and gilded edges. It’s pretty satisfying to watch her thumb through the stiff pages.
