The PAL Planner stands for Plan and Log, which is only a suggestion for how to use it. The 1 week on 2 pages layout is different than other planners as it shows each day as a rectangular block divided into two columns. You can either use the left column for what you plan and the right column for what you actually did, or track to do lists for work vs leisure, or anything else you can imagine. Some PAL planner users have turned the blocks into short daily journal entries.

The beginning of each month is also unusual and interesting; it features a calendar on one page for the full month with room to annotate and take notes, and a page with a vertical full month layout that you can use as multiple columns for tracking.

The Kokuyo paper is smooth and midweight, and the book is a compact B6 size with a different color cover each year.

Review:

I personally love the interesting layout of this planner and found it to be functional for work and managing a small team. But it didn’t quite make the cut for me to use again because I think vertical weeklies match the way I think about time more than the blocks. If it weren’t for that, I would definitely use the planner again.
